Pack 3 contains Stages 9-12

Stage 9
- Contains a main wing spar, tail reinforcements and wooden strips.

Carefully cut out the parts from the ply fret, then smooth the cut locations flat.

Retreive frame #9 from the previous stage, check its orientation then glue it in place within the tail as shown.

Apply glue to the tail infil peices and fit them in place on the underside of the fuselage. Then take the large upper reinforcement and glue it on the upper side of the fuselage.

Take frame #10 from the previous stage, glue it into its slots on the reinforcemnt peice just fitted. Ensure that it is set at 90 degrees to the reinforcement base.

This completes this stage. Carefully store the remaining parts.

Stage 10 - Contains wing ribs 1-3 and 3x3mm wooden stringers.

You will also need to retrieve wooden stringer lengths provided in previous stages.

Take the fuselage and turn it over.

Test-fit, then glue three 3x3mm wooden strip lengths into the notches of fueslage formers as shown. Ensure that all three run back to the last frame as indicated in the instructions

When the glue has set, cut of the overhanging length of each strip so they are flush with frame #4 as shown.

Turn the fuselage over. Test-fit, then glue a 3x3mm wooden stringer length along the central length of the frames as indicated. DO NOT cut-off the overhang beyond frame #4

Test-fit, cut to length, then glue the side stringer lengths as shown. Then repeat on the opposte side.

This completes this stage.

Stage 11 - Contains wing ribs 4-6 and 3x5mm wooden strips.

Mark the ribs as shown, then take the wing spar and rib #3 provided at Stage 9.

Set the spar upright on a flat surface, then apply glue into the fifth notch from the left-hand end.
Place the rib into the notch, ensuring that the rib is fully seated into the slot and that its forward and aft legs are in contact with the work surface. Check that the rib is set 90 degress upright and at 90 degrees to the spar.

Take ribs 4-6. Apply glue into the seventh notch on the wing spar and fit rib 4 into place, ensure it is propely seated and that its forward and aft legs are i contact with the work surface.
The repeat the rib fitting process with ribs 5 and 6 into the ninth and 11th notches. Again, ensure that the ribs are set 90 degress upright and at 90 degrees to the spar.

This completes this stage.

Pack 04 contains Stages 13-16

Stage 12 - Contains wing ribs 11-13 and 3x5mm wooden strips.

Take rib #2 provided at Stage 10. Apply glue to the third notch in the main spar and insert the rib in place.
Check that it is fully seated, that its front and aft legs are in contact with the work surface, and that it is set at 90 degress to the main spar.

Place a square or rectangular batton underneath the rib tails, so that the entire rear portion of the rib run is raised, and that the aft underside leg of each rib is also raised up from the work surface.

Mark the corresponding rib number onto ribs 11-13.

Apply glue to the fourth notch of the spar (between ribs 2 and 3)Then fit rib #12 in place.
Ensure it is fully seated into its slot, that its top is flush with the main spar and its tale is resting upon the batton. Rib 12 should be set centrally between the adjacent ribs.

Now take rib #13, apply glue into the sixth notch, fit the rib in place, following the same procedure as rib #12.

That's it for pack 03 Carefully store rib #11 for a future use.

Stage 13 - Contains wing ribs 14 & 15 and wooden strips.

Test-fit then glue rib 14 into the corresponding notch on the main spar, and repeat witn rib #15.

Take a length of the 3x3mm wooden strips provded with stage 10, and cut it into three 90mm lengths.

Test-fit then glue each 90mm strip into the remaining top side notches of the fuselage front.
After the glue has set, cut away the overhang and also the overhang of the previoulsy fitted spars. Then cut away the spar overhang at the top of frame #4

Smooth all of the cut ends with a file or sanding block.

Retain the material offcuts for future use.

Stage 14 - Contains the rear wing spar, wing ribs 7 & 16 and wooden strips.

Test-fit then glue rib #7 into the notch indicated.

Take rib #11 provided with Stage 12, insert into the main spar as shown but DO NOT glue it.

Take the rear wing spar, apply glue into the notches of the ribs indicated then fit the spar into place. Rib #11 should be poistioned at an angle so that it locates into the rear spar, then glue it in place. Ensure that the tops of the rear part of the ribs are aligned with the rear spar.

Take rib #1 provided with stage 10, test-fit then glue it in place at the wing root. Note that the ends of the spars are angled so the rib won't sit perfectly upright.

Carefully store rib #16 and the wooden strips for future use.

Stage 15 - Contains wing ribs 8, 9 10 and wooden strips.

Test-fit then glue rib 8 & 9 into the notches indicated. Ensure both are set at a right angle to the main spar.

Test-fit then glue rib #10 into palce at the wing tip end of the main spar. Ensure it is set parallel to rib #9.

Test-fit the glue a 4x4mm wooden strip from the previous stage into upper rib notches. The inner most end should be set half way across rib #6.

Carefully store the wooden strips for future use.

Stage 16 - Contains wing ribs 17,18,19 and a wing tip section.

Turn the wing assembly upside down. Test-fit a 4x4mm wooden strip into the rib slots, so that it sits flush with the side of the second rib, and at the other end end, make a pencil mark where the strip aligns with the side notch just beyond rib #6. Cut the stip at the mark, then remove and glue the strip in place.

Test-fit then glue the strip off-cut into the area indicated in step 5, so that it butts up to the prevous strip and is glued against the main spar.

Test-fit then glue the wing tip in place against the wing tip rib. Ensure that the tip is set squarely to the rib, (support the tip on the underside until the glue has set).

This completes pack 04.
