Hi shipmates, Its a bit, well, sort of, of topic in a way, but I just had to share this! I want a Lathe so looking through EBay I found this one, This is what the ad says - Quote:Here is an Axminster wood turning lathe
1/2 hp, 240v with a rotating head stock, 1 meter bed turning length, good condition tail stock. has a tapered centre for the head stock, NO chuck or chisels with this lathe. It seems to bear the old axminster log, before all the machines got made in the far east.
This is a quality machine and will last for a long time These are 2 of the photos! Have you seen it yet ????????? So are you going for this one Russ? It is a bit of a big beast for the kind of wood working associated with model boat building. Tomick recommended to me the Proxxon DB250 which is a small table top lathe and I have found it excellent so far, not that I have had time to do much with it, but I have a lot of masts and spars waiting in the wings.
