She is going to be a great build for you.
Will you be lighting her up?

Peter

Thanks for looking in Peter... plans are being formulated to light her up.. This does mean I will have to change the order of the build to ensure I have the access I need to fit all the led's, optics and wiring... Intention so far is to have wires hidden out of the hull and into the display base, connecting to a mains powered 9v adapter that can be disconnected when not in use.... Will keep everyone updated on lighting progress too....

Thanks again

Only just spotted this one Alan. Really looking forward to seeing your efforts on this, as I'm sure you will give it your usual thorough attention and step by step build diary.BigGrin BigGrin
I've been off the modelling for a while, as my wife's new business start up has taken nearly all my spare time, plus we are having the house thatched and several large trees went over in the storm etc, etc. Maybe December will be quieter, then again.....LOL Bored

Small update on progress so far.... drew a centre line down both sections of the lower deck, also drew lines across the deck where the ribs are located.... Pinned and glued the deck sections down and when dry removed from the build board, turned the hull over and applied copious amounts of glue along all of the joints....Cool Cool .. Turned her back over and fitted her back onto the build board....Cool Cool .. Double checked everything to ensure all was square and level ... Have to say even at this stage the hull feels very sturdy..... BigGrin BigGrin

Happy building all, more soon....

Alan

Thanks Steve, due to the length of this one I had to make doubly sure the hull was straight and true, anything else and I think it would be very noticeable.....Cool Cool

Thanks Ken.... there are two variants of this build, the first available in 5 parts or boxes covers the R/C version and the other, the one I am building is the static display version. This one comes in 4 parts, the 2nd part not being needed.... The holes in the deck are there mainly for the R/C version and enables ballast to be added.... Hope this answers your question.... Cool Cool
