Having read a few posts I decided it would be rude not to say hello and let you know who and what I am . Firstly , I am 76 , and have been making models since the age of 4 , the first one being a Lockheed Lightning from a Keil Kraft Kit (I think) that required much whittling of wood . I have proceeded through the wonders of plastics , resin , resin plus photo etch , nutted and bolted live steam to the state where I am having to throw out old models to make room for the new . Sad , that . But I am still learning ; anyone claiming he's a modeller and not still learning is probably not a very good modeller . I spent half a lifetime in the RAF and the other half on electronic weapon system design . I am in the process of enjoying the D51 which , though it is claimed not to be operable on track , has got my mind set on making it run . It will look OK alongside the large collection of other railway stuff that I have accumulated over the years .

ps I just previewed the above and could not find a way of editing the post to make the lines of text come out correctly . The spelling has also been changed----'accumulated' is not spelled in the way shown in the preview , and I cannot change it . Oh dear , it's done it again .

Welcome to ModelSpace Mike
Don't worry about the spelling, sometimes the forum system picks up certain words as possible banned words and re-jigs them, don't ask me how it thought your word was such
Edit is in the top right-hand corner of the post box.

Thanks Tomick , but it persists in "correcting" my spelling . That is slightly annoying , I take a pride in using correct spelling .

Welcome Mike, and thanks for the introduction, we have a lot of guests and it is always nice to get an introduction.
I will be interested to see you progress in getting the D51 operable.

Unfortunately as Tomick said the forum has built in software that detects inappropriate words even when they are part of a word, accomeulated when spelt correctly contains one of these words....it is annoying but can get quite amusing at times.Charles D i c k e n s becomes Charles Dancerens for example & who can forget the big bad highwayman Dancer Turpin! Rob Nolli Illigitimi Carborundum!!!Current Builds: HMS Victory, SV Thermopylae
