I have just completed the first stage of issue 10, attaching the lower left upright to the suspension arm via the "E" type screw, and I'm not sure how much movement there should be where the arm joins the upright. The instructions say the upright whould swivel freely, which it does, but there is also a millimetre or so of up/down movement, which I'm not sure is right. I assume that when the suspension arm is attached to the main chassis it will be held in position, but I just want to be sure that I'm not going to end up with a wonky wheel before I go any further and glue the upright together!! Blink

Thanks for any advice!!

Hi Mattsr, I had a similar problem when i was building mine.Generally the instructions are clear & easy to understand but sometimes they aren't.Just looked thought issue 10 & if my memory serves me right i tightned the screw just as it says in the instructions, loose by about half a turn so the wheel turns but with alittle resistance. The suspension arm attaches to the body later on so there is no movement there. One other thing is that my model is in a glass display cabinet & so i'm not really that bothered whether the wheels can turn or not, i just have them parallel to the body.Hope this helps.Stu.

Hello Stupot, thanks for the reply. Like you mention, the instructions are not totally clear on this, but this afternoon I removed the screw and re-made the assembly, so it now fits properly without any wobble, but still turns for the steering. Like yourself, I'm really not bothered about the working steering since I intend to display the model in a case as well, but I was just worried about gluing the whole assembly together if it wasn't completely right.

Thanks again for your advice. ThumpUp

Hi mattsr and welcome to the forum... You've picked a great build with the McLaren MP4/23 and there are plenty of people who have built this beautiful kit to help you with any questions you might which to ask.. Stupot is spot on with the suspension and glad you got it sorted Cool
