BigGrin Hi All
I have started to put this together , looking to the instructions I decided to split it into 3 units and the assemble them all at the end, the first section is the drawer box so I added the partitions and then started to varnish all the components before assembling them.
The second is the top tray that's removable this has also been made up and the varnishing started.
Although the work station can go together without varnish I think it looks better and it certain brings out the colour of the staining .
More soon

Hi Andy, BigGrin

Looks like a very useful bit of kit.

Could well be into one of these after the Christmas post settles down.

BigGrinHi Alan
Thanks for looking in and your comments, your right about the pre staining being nice I suspected with a little varnish it would give a nice warm glow to the wood

BigGrin Hi All
After assembling the two end boxes it a simple job to add the bottom rear and back plates to join everything up once this is done it deffinately looks good for the job intended, the only thing I will change is the rubber tube provided for the cradle il probably replace with felt or similar at some point.
The varnish certainly brings out the pre-stained parts to a warm glow like colour quite pleasing to the eye.
Apart from that it goes together easily and without any problems and is a lot bigger than it looks when made up and I would recommend it to others.
The first pic shows the box picture and then my rendition

HI Andy.

That look like a great piece of kit. I foresee a lot of these being sold to the builders that do not have there own dedicated work space/room with its build area and storage area it looks ideal.

Hi Andy
Might order one of these but I have a couple of question -
I think Id like to also make a fold down front door which would cover the "cupboard" and the drawers. So, the door would fold down and perhaps a work mat can be on the inside of this door. Anyway, do the drawers push back in enough to allow this door to close properly? and would an A3 mat be able to fit on a door covering the entire front?
Sorry for the questions BigGrin
Steve

BigGrin Hi Steve
A swing down table front could easily be fitted by using a piano hinge it would just mean discarding the wood handles supplied and using ring and eyes on the plastic boxes the wood draw at the bottom is almost inline with the edge but still opens if you omit the handle. An a4 matt is slightly to big for the space in the middle but the overall dimensions of the front are 42cm by 31 cm so it should fit ok.
Hope this is of use
regards

Great looking bit of kit, thanks for the build diary and the review. I to had thought to put a door on the front so bits would not fall out when giving SWMBO the dining table back, but had not thought to include the cutting board to the inside of the door, what a stoke of genius.
Regards

Bob
