The methanol content of nitro fuel is 'hygroscopic', and therefore absorbs moisture from the atmosphere.

Fuel deposits that remain within the engine after the days running or during model storage can cause internal corrosion. Its agood idea to treat the engine internals with 'After Run oil', which will protect the engine from corrosion during storage.

After Run oil is available from most nitro car/engine stockists and a number of fuel manufacturer types.

To use remove glow plug and place a few drops into piston. Turn the crank a couple of turns and then replace the plug. That will coat the insides of the piston and Crank case preventing seizure. You only need to use if you are not using vehicle for more than 2 days apart. But I used to do it once a day after my daily runs.
On the bench

1/350 Revell Tirpitz Platinum Edition (Pontos PE and Wooden deck) plus extra Eduard PE set and extra MK1 door sets.
