Hi Can anyone please give me some info on exactly how the 2 stored cannon on the forcastle deck are lashed down. The official build says to just glue them down at issue 108 but although Im only at issue 92 I want to get them lashed down now before any shrouds go on etc. I can rig something up myself if I cant find out but was just wondering if there is a set way that these get tied down. Thanks Karl, I like the look of those - I cant quite see where the rope is going though, is there 2 eylets in front and behind on the deck? Steve

Hi Stevie. Try this view, it looks like a single eye bolt fore and aft with a block and tackle between the eye bolts on the front and back of the carriage to the deck bolts tied off like the knightshead tackles on the bow. The criss cross rope over the top of the barrel seems to go through the recoil tackle rings on the carriage. Thankyou Robin, the blocks on there look very neat, maybe the kit supplied ones were 2mm. Im thinking I may go for this look but minus the blocks as I only have 4mm. It will still look a lot better than nothing at all  Steve

Hi Stevie. Those blocks do look very small I agree! Another way might be to make your own 'blocks' as I did on my 1/100 scaler using brass pins and thin electrical wire. Have a look at posts 27 and 28 on my diary (1/100 DelPrado) its nowhere near as difficult as it seems and does give the impression of very small blocks (even though they aren't really! ) If you can manage a basic soldering iron you shouldn't have any difficulty. Post up some pics whichever way you go! Thanks Robin, Just checked your mini blocks in your diary, wow! they are small and a very nice idea. For now I have just lashed them down with eyelets and rope, no blocks - I don't think I have the patience that you have though so may resort to adding 2mm blocks to my next CMB order Steve
