Found this while surfing. http://www.andreadepotus...estern-front-1916.html#!prettyPhoto It is amazing how World War One modelling has taken off lately. It would seem that Wingnut Wings has kickstarted the whole genre! Tired, Old, and Cranky!

I certainly would be surprised if one small model company has got so many manufacturers thinking about the Great War. It could be that the 100 years Anniversary of the start of WW1 next year is being seen as a good market to explore by Model companies?

Could be. Within the group I hang with, most of them have at least 1 WnW kit, and prior to WnW, had no interest in WWI. I'd hardly call them "small" though. With dedicated newsgroups, GB's, fan pages, and so on, they have had a more profound effect on a specific genre of the hobby than anything since Tamiya shoved 1/35 down everyone's throats. It would be really interesting to find out what kind of production figures they have. I'd be willing to bet they surpass "our" little niche, partwork kits, individually by subject, and certainly as a whole. Tired, Old, and Cranky!
