Im on the shrouds now, not fitting the bowsprit just yet as it's easier to spin her round on the bench without it in place.

I will describe the process and the pics should fall in the right order -

Started by tying on all the shrouds to all 3 masts and trimming to length with the masts in place.

Next I made the little tool in pic 3, I called him "Deadeye Dave" The gap between the wire prongs and the top deadeye holes is exactly 20mm to keep the shrouds at the right length.
I wrapped each shroud around the deadeye tool at each location and tacked it loosely together with CA, so the loop can still be removed from the deadeye.
I did this to all shrouds and used the wooden dowels to keep them in the right order.

Then I was able to remove the mast back to the bench to insert a painted deadeye and complete the bindings on each shroud, knowing that they were the exact length required.

Then I used a piece of wire to keep the finished shrouds in the right order until it's time to lash them with the tensioners

Hi Robin, Thanks for looking, I understand the shrouds slant as they go to stern and each shroud is slightly longer. I am allowing for this as "Deadeye Dave" is used at each shroud position, so although each shroud is getting longer the distance between the deadeye's remains the same at 20mm but the shrouds are all different lengths, this is why they are kept in order after Pic 6 shows the shrouds slanting back and getting longer as they go back.

Wow Stevie, its really beautiful . I have watch my friend building his, and the Victory is a very difficult build.

You can invest in the rope tool that looks like a tri-angle to make life easier.

@Mt T. I will put together a little tutorial in a couple of days when I'm taking pics of the next lot of shrouds on the top masts, have to make a new "Deadeye Dave Junior" for those ones

All the deadeye bindings are done on all masts. Just a small update here as although there is a lot of work gong into this now there is not much to show for it. Each issue seems to be taking forever now.
I have lashed one side of the foremast and am now in the process of tying off the lanyards. I really get the feeling that I'm in deep now and the serious work has begun - for a while now its going to be knots, knots and more knots

Think I need to start another of my kits for a plastic distraction
