For painting the oars,the build suggests using a cork to hold them. Here is a better idea. Use the children/grandchildren's play doh. it works a treat. paint them individually. or roll out a strip to hold the four

Yes, I used blue tack, did the trick perfectly and it dose not cling to the piece or leave residue on the part you are working on..well it did not stick to the oars when I painted them?
