Hi lads. Just posted some of my latest pictures which includes cutting out the gun ports and the secondary planking of the upper hull. I am soon to start on the lower hull which I must say looks very daunting. I am quite happy with my progress so far and I do have to remind myself when I see some of the builds on here that this is my first one. I would like to use a stain on the bottom part of the hull if i can get my planking good enough. Any help here would be appreciated. I notice the way some of you taper the strips but also use is it droppers ? The instructions does not explain things at this stage very well and I am quite aware it is a vital part of the build. What is the best way to taper strips to ensure that your next strip fits perfectly ? Any help at all here lads would be very much appreciated.

Nice work there Neon, your planking to date is looking very good.... .. There are lots of ways to taper planks and I covered the 2nd planking phase quite extensively on my build.... Also, you may find this link of some use to you to give you some ideas.... http://forum.model-space...aspx?g=posts&t=6169
Hope it helps, keep up the good work and keep those pics coming so we the other members can help you keep on track..... Will be following... Regards Alan

Cheers Alan. Thanks for the good wishes. Your build is an inspiration and your lower hull planking is simply fantastic. I think I will probably go with a more simple approach like just regular tapering as I think I would probably mess it up if I try anything fancy. I love the dark finish on your build. I realise you used different timber on the bottom end but if my planking is good enough I am going to use a wood dye to achieve a similar result. Heres hoping.

Hi everyone. I know it's been ages since I have posted. Life took over I guess. I have been tipping away at my build none the less so I am gonna try and get a few pics up just as soon as I figure out how to do it again.
