How about HMS Warrior 1860 iron ... sail ... steem ... big guns hull lines so well shaped

I agree, what a build she would be. She is steeped in history from her berth in 1860 in answer to the French introducing the iron clad La Gloire. Warrior and her sister ship Black Prince were state of the art at that time.
The fortifications of the South Coast (Palmerstons Follies so called because the never used in anger) were full speed ahead on recommendation of a Royal Commission.
The range of coastal defence guns was increased from 4000 to 8000 yards because of the introduction of rifling.
Lord Palmerston was Prime Minister at the time and he nearly took us into the American Civil War on the side of the south.
Military history from 1860 onwards is an interesting time. I wish I could go on forever on this one.

hi talk as much as you like about her have you read the book of how to make her , that was a lovly model r/c and steem powered as well . its on display at pormouth were you bye the ticks in a mag there was articles on biulding her it could be airfix mag mmmmm some were in the work shop there`s hundreds of them in a box

I think this would be a fantastic idea. She's accessible and could be a challenging build, especially if she was really clad her in iron! ArtfulBodger Previous Build: HMS. Bounty
