Hi Steve
I'll let you know how I get on with them, but I'm not quite there yet. At the moment, I'm working on the Arab dhow which I'll finish before getting down to work on the Victory again. It was the daunting task of starting the rigging that slowed me down a little.
No, I haven't got a build diary of my Victory build - been at it since 2010 and I've only recently discovered how to post pictures on the forum - didn't realise how easy it was or else I would have made a build log. You might be able to get some fleeting glimpses of her in the background of Arab dhow log photos.
So I'll post some pics later when I get started again.
Thanks again and happy building
David

Hi Ian, thanks the comment and for looking in - I am not going for sails as I've always thought they look a bit odd plus they tend to hide a lot of deck detail. I was thinking of furled sails but with this many it would be difficult for my first real build so not bothering, might go for furled sails on the Black Pearl thoughBigGrin

Small update with a little bit of work at the frontLOL

The bowsprit had to go in at this stage, held off for as long as I could - it's now become a pain to spin around to do work on either side. I didnt glue it in as it was a very tight fit, the 2 gammoning ropes hold it down tight as well.

Added the Boomkins, these were glued to the knightheads after widening and re-shaping the cut-outs in the bow rail.

Next was to add the netting, presumably to prevent the crew from falling overboard whilst using the conveniences BigGrin

The gangboard was also built, painted and fitted and the main stay hearts were threaded through ready for the main stay and preventer to be fitted next.

More soonBigGrin

The thing is i have to many things on the go at once ie :- Sos, Hood, D51,
Surprise and Victory.
Progress is very slowBlushing.
Still i am enjoying it and that is what counts.
Anyway enough Flapper.

Excellent job mate but how did you get the original rivet effect on the tiles? I think it looked far more effective (but that's my opinion)but still a stunning job, I just hope that mine turns out as good.
