Hi all. I've been a modeller for 20 years with a big break after getting married. Finally I got the bug after deciding I must build this huge subject and I have enjoyed every minute of it. After waiting 3 months to get the collection together I am making good progress, enough to post. Initially I wanted to replace the carbon that came with the decals with after market stuff but the longer I wait the more that get's covered. I have added detail here and there and decided to lacquer the body as I go rather than build it all and do it afterwards! This caused some issues as I'll address later. For the meantime I'll start at the beginning. The first decal sheet I bought was F'artifice 4L in the 1/8 size. It did turn out rather large but as I before I realised I had done all the front suspension. Guiddy attached the following image(s):

Thanks for the comments guys. It's a similar story for the rear suspension, careful decaling and thinking about the direction of each weave. I used pictures from the net to get the weave as close to real as possible. The exhausts where airbrushed using AlClad2 copper, jet exhaust and steel with clear blue lacquer to finish. The airbox was also carbon decalled. I sprayed the driveshafts using Alclad as well as most of the inboard suspension. Amazing to think there is about 30 issues to get to this point! I've left the front and rear wings for when there is a chassis to mount them to!

Started on the rear wing as I waited for other parts to dry. I lacquered the whole section first, cave the decals something better to stick to than flat paint. I dropped down to F'Artifice 1/8 L sized carbon decal for this part, following the pattern of the wings rather than sand them off as they go the right way.

Got most of it done now. Finding a problem getting the engine cover to line up with it all and ended up having to remove the airbox from the top of the engine. I was also fortunate enough to get some pics of the real car off a friend who recently worked on it. I'm forbidden to post any pics online but fair to say it's pretty accurate. The whole rear suspension parts are far too shiny and so I may take them apart and spray them various shades of titanium sliver. For the meantime some more pics...
