Hi All,  Now I`ve done this bit in slightly the wrong order. I`ve lined the gun ports (one side) and then noticed not done the Gunwales.  Don`t think this will cause major issues, but my question is this: When fixing the Gunwales: a: what adhesive is best used? b: do you need to remove some of the paint from the hull, to get best adhesion? c: how do you clamp it in place while it sets? Regards delboy271155 (Derek) Hi Derek, I simply used alphatic PVA and didn't actually clamp the wales in place.... I predrilled holes and used my map pins to hold in place, once dry removed the map pins, filled the holes with modellers putty, sanded smooth again and then finally touched up with the black paint.... Didn't need to remove any paint however I did run over the area lightly with fine grade sandpaper attached to the edge of a 4x4mm walnut strip. The end of the strip was filed to a 45 degree angle to which a small piece of sandpaper was superglued to the end of the strip.... Used this to key the area where the wales were to be attached.... Worked for me.... Hope this helps... Regards Alan

I use the quick drying PVA glue. You sand the paint to matt it down for the glue to grip, similar to painting. Mask the area you want to protect. Use 800-grid sandpaper or higher (the type the automotive spray painters use) to sand the area. The grid is fine enough not to cause damage to your painted area if done correctly. You can also use bigger clamps ( the type you received as a gift) across the hull at the ribs with scrap planks as a cushion to spread the down force. This way you can make easy adjustments.
