Does anyone know of a fail safe way of drilling straight holes for the dummy canons in the portholes? I'm afraid I stuffed up with some of them in the first row, even though I thought the drill bit was straight. Gotta figure out how to fix the off center ones too.

Hi Sinbad, On my victory I drilled the 1st hole being extra careful to get this one level and central, the best way to be central is to drill the cannon hole at the same time as you drill the center hole for cutting the gunport. Insert a cocktail stick in this hole then when drilling the port next to it you can see the angle of the stick so you can angle the drill to match this. Then another cocktail stick and on to the next etc. This worked fine for me anyway. Steve

hi sinbad,I drill the holes slightly oversize and use superglue gel, so I have adjustment and the glue will start to set in 10 sec. which is enough to get them straight. I presume you mean the dummy cannons alignment? Another way is to made a guide block that you pin onto the porthole with a hole pre-drilled 0.5mm (or bigger). Make sure the pins goes into the waste area! Align your guide block with the hull checking that the drill is aligned to specs and drill the 0.5mm through. This should be your centre to work from at which you can follow Karl's advice to make further adjustments.
