BigGrin Hi All
This month its the fire box/boiler area and the addition of the straps. Nothing of concern here and quite a fast build it also starts to give a good idea of its size as the drivers cab is still to be added.
More soon

I have a bottle of the same Tamiya thinner (I'm guessing that's what it is?) and it's a pretty big bottle , so looking at the pictures I can see that's a VERY big Kit! Brilliant work as always Andy Cool

That paint finish looks nigh on perfect Andy, a normal matt black just does not look scale like sometimes, but the Rail match weathered works a treat......You are setting the standard to aspire to with it..........Tony

BigGrin Hi Tony
Thanks for looking in and your comments.
I agree about the Railmatch colour it gives that oily blue black colour that comes into its own on the larger area's of the loco, as for setting a standardBlushing there are im sure some better renditions out there but thank you for the compliment.

Great work Andy....I like the black you've used, I think it's quite appropriate for this kit. I've been toying with the idea of a satin or flat black as I don't have a lot of choice here, it's Humbrol or.....Humbrol.....Phil

BigGrin Hi Phil
Thanks for your comments and looking in most appreciated. Have you tried searching on e-bay for 'railcolour weathered black' you may get some from off there, if not have you considered these from Vallejo

http://www.ebay.co.uk/it...amp;hash=item4ad0c3f4a6

and

http://www.ebay.co.uk/it...amp;hash=item2eccac5ac4

One or the other could bring the Humbrol to lifeBlink BigGrin

hope this is of help

BigGrin Hi All
Today I received the new set of parts which included the backhead and the water level boiler sight's these as I have noticed from pictures are cast in the solid where they should be a frame with an inner tube with 3 panels of glass surrounding it just incase it blew to stop splinters.
My intention was to always remove the central solid part and replace with a frame ,inner tube and outer glass. So here are todays results the centre's have been removed and the frames have been made up ready for painting, the glass tube and outer glass panels will be added later.
More soon
regards
