Hi All! I attached photos of a reformed model of IJN light cruiser KINU(鬼怒). Building this model was my first experience to build such 1/700 water line(WL) model. Since this kit belongs to old generation of WL models, the structures were very simplified.(No.1,2) After repairing the MOGAMI, I decided to reform this model. First I dismantled the model and removed the paint and glue on the parts. (No.3,4,5) Next, the body was re-painted.(No.6) Too old parts had to be exchanged for recent parts.(No.7,8,9) Masts and bridge were my own making. Original back mast (No.10) was changed to new one.(No.11) Original bridge (No.12) was enhanced with photo etching parts and others.(No.13) Original front mast (No.14) was also changed to new parts.(No.15) Through such processes, reforming of the old model was finished.(No.16) No.17,18 and 19 are photos for the gallery. Best Regards, Yutaro Yutaro HONMA attached the following image(s): DeAGOSTINI 1/250 the YAMATO, 1/250 the AKAGI. Hi Robin! Thank you for looking and giving me a question. I did not use a chemical method but a physical one. I only pinch or pull the parts. A few parts were divided by cutter knife. I took notice not to lost rather than to break them. Broken parts were enough to be useful. Plastic parts were easyly to be repaired, be changed or be re-made. If I lost the parts, such method goes more difficult. Best Regards, Yutaro DeAGOSTINI 1/250 the YAMATO, 1/250 the AKAGI.
