Hi All
i have only just started back on the model after 7 months off. work and stuff took over. but now I've finally finished the second layer of planks and had a sand down. I'm still undecided how to finish the lower either paint white or stain. I'm not sure of the finish. any thoughts would be much appreciated.
Well back to it now, so I've got a challenge to catch up. BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin

Looking fab Stu....Drool Drool .. For me, would have chosen a darker wood for the second layer, stained then varnished.... As you have a very light wood then make sure you do plenty of test pieces to see how the stain will look... only then can you really decide whether to stain or paint.... Hope this helps...

Regards

Alan

BigGrin Hi Stu
One idea would be to try a lime wash this will whiten the wood and then a coat of clear varnish. Just an idea
