Go for the Admiralty Paints. I did use some modelling paints but they are oil based and problem is covering the separation lines of the cannon truck wood planks with oil based. It doesn't look as good to the eye when you can't see this separation. Admiralty paints appear to be water based as far as I know other than their varnishes and stains. I might be wrong? The company in Melbourne I contacted are out of stock till early April so I will leave till then any further painting. Regards George1 Building HMS SOTS

Just recieved my scond monthly issues up to 8 and have been looking into weather to put some mounting screws into the keel before assembling, but have notice no one has done so.

Hi Bligh I haven't put mounting screws in but if you look at a number of other Newbie's builds you'll see they have. Look at bb1949 and others. I haven't purely because I have other plans re mountings. Regards George Building HMS SOTS
