Why are there no instructions regarding false keel rib frames regarding keeping tops level? I'm mot talking across frames themselves I'm talking frame to frame. Only instructions being to keep 90 degrees to main frame. Without reading Karl's SOTS build as a beginner I just would not have known and would be depending on the slots depths as accurate. The rib frames being even to the bottom of main frame as one would expect. After reading Karl's build I checked mine regarding build to issue 3 and already there is the beginning of a slight slope on the tops. Now this has all been glued and I'm more than annoyed! Lucky I hadn't gone further with more issues or I might as well of then thrown all in the bin. All it would have taken was one sentence in the instructions not to have this mistake. Hi karl1113 Thanks for your help. I will endeavour to keep other rib frames level to those already glued. You did say in your build that some frames had a slight rise towards the stern. So can you clarify that for me. What number frame they start so I don't try to force level with rest. I will understand if it is too late now as you're well past this point in your build to see into the bowels of the hull. Regards George1 Building HMS SOTS

if you take a look at my build page 2 post43. http://forum.model-space...osts&t=4775&p=2
there is a pic showing the ribs slowly rising, from frame 20 upwards.check the deck supports on these ribs and you will find that it rises towards the stern in a gentle slope. Thanks karl1113 I will remember that info when my build gets to that stage. Be another couple of weeks as I get one kit issue a week and only up to issue three at the moment. In the next issue (4) I see there will be remainder of bow inserts. I noticed you filled in with balsa I presume to help when gluing in hull planks later. Is it ok to do the bow section (fill in with balsa) when I get issue four. I can't see there would be any more inserts after that in that section. Hope you don't mind me asking you these questions. normaly I don't use infills, but as a few members were doing it,I gave it a try,it does help, and even more help if you haven't planked a model before. it's expensive to do,and would recommend new builders give it a try if they need planking help, bear in mind new builders have a steep learning curve, but not unattainable by any means. it is a very addictive past time,so enjoy and good luck.
