well I,ve just entered this forum and first of all I got to say I,m the worst computer user on the planet so please excuse my lack of skill.I think I,ve already mucked up this postBlushing anyway I,ve made reasonable progress on Victory, now doing the gallery and just finished the foc,sle knightheads.but I have a question,is the foc,sle walls too high or have I done something wrong.I don't see how the carronade can fire without blasting the rail to pieces and the 12 pounder has no chance of firing ahead at all.The bulkhead seems 10 mm too high.As a side issue I think the guide on making the Foc,sle rail way too tricky so I opted for building them up in 3 sections,(lot easier)and the result was real pleasing, and a tip if you want to copper tile the bottom,I got copper coloured card from warehouse stationary, cut it into 10 mm x 30 mm squares and sticking that on,then urethaning after, very pleased with the finished work. Oh! nice to be here

Hi Leomax,
Welcome to the forum, glad to hear you are enjoying the Vic build, Im at issue 102 and still loving itBigGrin

Not sure what you have done with the bulkhead rail but can tell you mine is at 15mm at the forward part, the carronades would be able to fire over the cutouts fine but not the 12 pounders, it's a bit high for them. If you can get some pics up here that would great - this gude will help, http://forum.model-space....aspx?g=posts&t=244

Good luck
Steve

well I think I got the photo to you,,it shows on my computer.was a daunting process,as I,ve said I am not a gifted computerman,to clarify from deck to top of wall cap rail is 12.5 mm,looked at Tomicks pictures and do not see much different, real life photos on the internet show this to be knee height, say 1/2 metre or so,does not seem right, thankyou for your thoughts

Hi Leomax
It looks about the same as mine, although I have my caronades facing broadside as the cutout is a little lower there -

here's mine -

BigGrin Just a suggestion but adding a little to the underside of the bases or raising the wheels will bring everything up to the correct level without any major surgery and as long as it looks ok who's going to knowCool
