Hi Alan.

Coming on great there, I like the horsey. Everytime you add another piece of the detail I go scurrying off to check if my little drastic plastic version has it on as well! Just checked and yes she does, although in my case the horse and rider are moulded in two halves on the main hull sides and the entire thing will fit over just the Queen's head on the penny!Blink
I have to admit, for it's age that Revell kit is quite well detailed, it's going to be fun converting her into a mini-me of yours one day! BigGrin
Keep up the great work, I'm noting it all down for later!!

Thanks Robin, keep watching over the next couple of weeks as the figurehead also has a rider (knight) on the horse plus four knights being trampled on under the horse..... Should be quite a spectacle when put together.....

Will be following you diary of the mini SOTS when you get going.....Cool Cool

Thanks Stevie, what you see on the website does differ to the actual build in many ways, the figurehead just being one of them.... Haven't got all the figures yet, these will come over the next couple of issues. However, just for you here is what I believe will turn out to be the completed figurehead which I think is stunning.....Drool Drool

Finished the horse and rider plus one of the laid down figures... Rider was made up as per the instructions and attached to the horse.. Next I filled all the joints using modellers putty, sanding smooth when dry and applied another coat of undercoat... While that was drying moved onto carrying out the same action on the laid down figure... watch closely on this figure, the head should be fitted looking to the left, this is not mentioned on the instructions but if you look at the picture on the mag it becomes clear.... the head can be fitted looking straight on..... Cool Cool .. Gave both figures two coats of metallic gold and finally a coat of gloss clear cote varnish..... Now moving on to making up the bowsprit pulpit and hope to have this finished tomorrow..... Happy building all....

Regards

Alan

Hi Alan!
Looking really great there, its certainly going to be a very detailed figurehead! Blink
I checked the tiddler, she's got the horse and rider all right but its moulded on just a sort of shaggy grass base. In that scale I might get away with a few arms and legs sticking out of the foliage (like the Grand National!)BigGrin

Keep them coming!

Completed the bowsprit pulpit, given it two coats of medium oak stain followed by a final coat of satin varnish.... This brings an end to issue 82 so now can get on with working on the Titanic.... Cool Cool

Well it looks as if this build will be suspended for a while, issue 83 has gone adrift from the newsagents.. Crying Crying They are not even sure if it has been received in the shop...Confused Confused If it doesn't turn up then may turn to taking out a subscription for the remaining issues....Glare Glare Bit of a pain but we will just have to wait and see what happens over the next few days....Mellow Huh Huh Until then, its back to the Titanic.... Happy building all...Cool Cool
