Shock Washer Options

Just received my first package! Their is one front shock absorber (damper) included.
My question is I have read on this forum that a Damper Update was issued in the form of a washer that now needs to be installed inside the Damper. Should I hold off with the Damper assembly until these washers arrive?

I would hold off and make both the shocks together as it will save draining and putting back the shock oil
