Looking great, keep an eye on the flatness of the deck that it does not 'wave'. Soon the fun part will begin. "Rather try and fail than had failed to try".Sovereign of the Seas Model Space forum: Marcel's build

Looking professional so far Ted. I made a mistake of using too narrow a base board for the false keel and 90 degree angle for rib frames as per the choice of building so in issue pics. I can see it being a very good thing to have regarding keeping all rib frames at a definite 90 degrees. Not difficult to construct. Apparently positions important when decking comes. So in my case I won't glue in till decking arrives in case of necessary adjustments. I see in Tommick's build he glues in later after decking is on by brushing on glue re joints. So will go that way. Hi George. I made an error with the rib frames on another build and in hind sight should have applied the deck as you have suggested and then glued the ribs. I need to do some adjusting which the balsa infills can help resolve. The sovereign build is on track though except this last week has been work work work with little extra time to do anything else.

Hi bb1949. Re the rib frame gluing later I got that from Tommicks official build. It should make it easier to ensure first deck goes in ok as there is little room for error re the slots in the deck pieces. Just have to make sure when that time comes everything especially mast hole is exact in position. Still a few issues off yet. Regards Geoege1 Building HMS SOTS
