It is really starting to take shape now Alan. Super work, I am really looking forwards to your next update.

Thanks Dave for looking in and the positive comments... Will be very interested to see how the instructions to your build have the stern..... To me it is an iconic part of her profile and think it is such a shame the mantua version really left this area with simply a rounded stern..... Cool Cool

Stern shaping continues with work on the starboard side and have now got through the transition up towards the keel..... Now very confident when the second planking phase is complete the final shaping will be of an acceptable standard..... Blink Blink .. Next job will be to work on the port side to match...... Cool Cool

A masterpiece in the making here Alan! The lines of the stern are really coming together and it's well worth all that chopping and changing you put into her.
I must admit though, when I first saw the photos of the entire hull I was going to suggest that you double checked the box top to make sure sure it was the Titanic - I was beginning to suspect you'd got a "Build a full sized Inuit Kayak" kit by mistake!!BigGrin
Well done and a real beauty!

Thanks Robin and your very positive comments are very much appreciated.... Cool Cool .. An Inuit Kayak...LOL LOL LOL Couldn't agree more.... I do know if I had simply carried on as instructed then this build would never be finished, I would have hated it that much..... At least by having a go I end up with something I can live with, it may not be 100% but won't be far off.... Am so pleased I decided to do what I have done...... Thanks again...

Well today I decided to leave the SOTS alone and concentrate on finishing off the stern profiling.... This has been a bit of a pig of a job but am happy now I at least have the stern looking like the stern should look.... The rest of the planking should be fairly straight forward from here on in and the final shaping of the stern will be carried out when the second layer of planks are applied..... Cool Cool .. I'm a happy chappy now..... BigGrin BigGrin

Lovely work again Alan! The lines and curves of the stern are really paying off all that extra effort. Cool
That last photo is very reminiscent of what the crowds on the docks would have seen as the old girl left Southampton with all the streamers flying and bands playing.Cool
Nicely done!

Thanks for looking in and the positive comments Robin..... If nothing else, I will be able to live with the stern now, at least it's a closer resemblance to the real thing compared to the instructions.....Cool Cool ..

Thanks for the positive comments Stevie, I think its a vast improvement to what the instructions say.... as a reminder, take a look at the first photo on post 245, this shows the stern as it would be if I followed the build instructions and this was simply awful..... Cool Cool ..

Thanks again and regards
