Hi Guys

I have just decided to remove all the rope ladders from the yards as I was not happy with the finish. Has anyone found a better and more authentic way of doing these

sorry Im confused. I was referring to the small rope foot holds made from brass wire that hang from the yards. Mine just don't look authentic so I wondered if one of you clever folks had found a better way of t]doing this

Hi
You could just use the natural thread, twist it just like the brass wire making sure you retain a loop in the end and then either use some watered pva or thin CA to seal the twist in place. You would have to devise a way to keep it taught while the glue dried though especially in the case of the pva.

hi steve, you mean the stirrups and the horses,I made mine using .75mm brass wire, and making a ring one end,(like a long eyebolt, )making them 20mm. long, then drilling the yard at suitable spaces, then threading them after installing them. good luck.
