Hi Not in the same league as Del's day out in Portsmouth, this is still a nice place to visit if you are nearby. The SS Great Britain - An underrated visitor attraction just a short 10 miles or so over the Severn Bridge for me. I have been there a few times and there is plenty to see. I really like the early steam ships with sails and this is a lovely ship. Check out the site - http://www.ssgreatbritain.org/
BTW, anyone know of a kit for this ship? Steve

Hi Steve, My thought is that a day out is what you make it, but thanks for the nice comment. As for a kit? Well I don`t want to scare you out of it, but "Fleetscale" do a hull with plans available for the rest of the build. It is a massive 1:32 scale = 270.5 cm length and 39.5 cm beam at a cost of £285. You would have to scratch build the rest from the plans most probably. When you get off the floor here`s a link: SS Great Britain hull 1:32Will keep looking for one slightly smaller, this was just the first one I found. There is a built one available at 1/72 scale and this is around a meter long. Steve

Hi Stevie I remember an old Airfix 'Classic Ship' kit from donkey's years ago, I checked on some Airfix sites and it was the Brunel ship the Great Western. It was in the same series as their Cutty Sark etc and I think 1/180 scale. They also did the same ship in the smaller series which would have been about 6" long (I've been trying to get the HMS Shannon from that series for ages now!) You might be lucky and find one now and again on ebay, the Shannon came up there a few months ago and I forgot to re-bid!! Best of Luck!
