WOW!!! Looking extremely impressive and VERY daunting. Especially the 1/72 Horta!!! That's surely gonna test someone's mettle. Might even be me! Lovely kits both of them. A lot of patience required for these. Steve

I have looked at the U boat was quite tempted but at £30 or so I felt it a bit pricy and the Etch does not look the best to me. Still I do fancy having a crak it it though “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

Good choice, Spikee. Can we expect a couple of snapshots in this forum? I for one would be most interested (Read: need some ammo to convince the mizzes that I REALLY need this one ) Adrie. I too bought the Horton Ho 229 kit a couple of months ago, and it's currently waiting in the queue. It looks good quality with 2 sheets of steel PE and includes 9 pieces of cast for the under-carriage, plus stand. As Spikee says the service was very good straight from the manufacturer. The instructions look good too, with 7 double sided A4 sheets in colour, but I guess the true proof will only come when the build is attempted.

Hi Adrie Yes I'll certainly stick up some pictures once it arrives. If you google it Im sure I saw a build of one somewhere. Its pretty much fold up and stick from what I remember and does look good. Dont forget it comes in a smallish packet so easily sneaked into the house ,its not like trying to sneak in a 1/200 Bismark!I can tell you that you can never get away with that Jon

Its arrived!Only took a week to get here. Excellent service! It comes well packaged in its own plastic case and bubble wrapped. You get two pieces of etch which is just superb and very detailed. They measure about 20cmx9cm,and the photos really don't do it justice. You also get a bag of white metal bits for the undercarriage and wheels. The display stand is included on the etch. and a whole load of intructions in full colour which are very much like looking at one of Tomick's build diarys. It builds very much like cut the parts of the sprue, fold up certain pieces of it,and glue. Simple. It should be quite sturdy when finished. You will need a pair of VERY fine tweezers and a fine scalple blade to work with this, also a magnifyer for those with old eyes like me. Is it worth the money?Definetly. It should build into a very nice model and certainly different. Jon

No Probs Tomick,it should keep me quiet for a while! Andy, why not go for both this and the Zoukai mura one? The Zoukai one is a must from the previews I've seen, and just think of all the etch brass that will be coming out for it . You could do this one while we wait for the Zoukai one to appear in the shops you know. Thanks for the good luck Adrie I think Im going to need it as it looks very fiddly. Steve, yes I can post up some pictures when I get round to starting it. Just need to finish off a bit more of the Zero first. Jon

I was thinking that this was all separate parts to be glued but looking at it, it seems that the wing is mainly one piece and the ribs twist 90 degrees and wont need glueing, is this right? Steve

Steve You're right the largest part of the wing is one piece and the ribs do twist 90degrees upwards and no glueing required. ...but theres also another 40 pieces to be glued onto both wings, most of which need bending to shape too. From looking at the kit, they all seem to fit into slots and sockets already cut into the etch, very much like the assembly of Deag's Zero. Jon
