Hi Alan

Although I did not post anything lately, I had been watching your creativity on your build. You inspire me to go the extra mile. I am busy researching the option to golden guild some of the metal decorations.

I tried to do some carving, but I'll admit its not for me to it in such small scale.

I love what you did with your decorations. She is really a beautiful ship.

Issue 87 now complete.... This started with the creation of the 3 bitt posts. Firstly marked out the measurements on both sides of the posts as per the magazine instructions. Once happy drilled the 6 holes by drilling half way through the post from one side, turning the piece over and drilled from the other side. This prevented the possibility of the wood splintering as the drill exited the piece..... Using a fresh blade on the modellers knife gently cut out the channels between the top and bottom holes.... Gave the posts 2 coats of walnut stain followed by a coat of satin varnish then fitted into position.... Cool Cool.. The photo actually shows the Bitt post on the main deck as being in the wrong position, this has now been moved to the other side of the mast hole.. Finished issue 87 with the fixing of additional ornamentation onto the stern gallery...... Cool . Nothing now until next issue comes out on Wednesday so for now its back to the Titanic..... Cool Cool ..Happy building all..

Regards

Alan

Beautiful work again Alan! The Bitt looks perfect! Cool
Are you hand drilling through the block or using a power tool? The waist area looks so decorative, my poor old Victory's getting a bling complex!BigGrin

Thanks for those kind words Robin...... I drilled through the Bitt block by hand, found I had more control that way rather than use a power tool.... Cool Cool .. As for the Victory, she is an iconic ship with a character all of her own, she doesn't need the bling.....BigGrin BigGrin .. Thanks again for the support, appreciated....
