More treasure worth £800,000 has been found on the wreck of SS Central America which sank in 1857. This adds to the small amount of gold found in the 80's when the wreck was first discovered. It is also believed there could be £10's of millions more.

Oddly enough, I have seen only 1 tiny little story on it. It was a picture of the gold bars, with a bit of a sidebar.

There is (should be?) an amazing amount of treasure off the coast of Florida. The galleons would anchor in what is now Cuba, and then head across the Atlantic to Spain. A lot of them hit shoals rounding Florida, and the Carolinas, and sank.
Tired, Old, and Cranky!
