I have a problem I can see happening when row boat cut from base. Where the stern is there is an angle piece that the stern fits against. This was glued to it as instructions, but now when I look at it the angle piece is actually higher than the black shaped line on stern when it is to be cut away Any advice on this appreciated? See Pic. Regards George1 Building HMS SOTS

Hi George I dont think you will have a problem as looking at the official build it looks the same for that rear former . Look at post#4 here http://forum.model-space...aspx?g=posts&t=5240
Looks like some carefull sanding on its way Regards Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Looks like some carefull sanding on its way Regards Andy Hi Andy. Looked at forum build your URL. It appears that in that case the angle piece was not glued on or if so only on bottom No sanding off any angle left overs. I will nut it out like you explained re sanding and already have plans to use snips to cut first across on bottom then dremel head cut through angle till comes apart. Appreciate your input greatly. Hi George Hindsite is a great teacher as is experience in building out little beautys. I think what I would do is this over trim the sides as per the official build, but the offending fomer at the back I would try to cut down its centre leaving a good chunk proud on the transom [ I know its a tall order but i think its going to be easyer triming back unwanted wood than the launch parts itself] so it can be sanded /trimmed back , as you will then have more room to get at it then Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Once off it won't be a problem so much regards sanding unwanted bits away. My razor saw is a joke as it grabs more than saws so will use sharp snips main areas to cut away then very carefully do that stern section. Again appreciate greatly your input. Have managed to separate without damage. Used snips then dremel head to cut angle piece away from stern. Next job sanding away unwanted material. Number 3 item at bow that was supposed to have no glue must have caught some runoff so will need to sand them away too. Will shape stern later as per guiding line on rear. Hi George, Now I know why you have been a bit quiet lately. You've done well and should be pleased with the result ! I found the first plank a bit more fiddly than expected mainly due to its thinness. I have still to add others which I will do later this week.

Just ensure you keep planks tight together as you add them. I found gluing just the end at the bow first then when stuck well enough to bring on across the ribs to the stern keeping the edges together as they naturally want to be slightly apart because of change of angle. Well we get our next issue today so will be klooking forward to some work to do. Regards George Building HMS SOTS

Huh? Anyone else in WA with this problem? Regards JohnP Hi John This happened also back at issue 6 that didn't get to newsagents till the week after then we were one week behind from there. Some got a note with an issue to tell them in this regard from Gordon and Gotch. I didn't, neither did my newsagent. I hope that's not going to be the story again from what you have commented. I was lucky then to have got issue 9. So going to be a mix up. Either you will get 9 and 10 next week or they'll do the same as last time and we'll all be waiting a further week for 10. This sort of going's on is not probably so bad once planking starts as old hands have said we would most likely be still working on one issue when the other arrives. However right now with issues that can be put together in one hour it's a real nuicence. Regards George Building HMS SOTS

Hi George, Saw your launch. Looks great. At what distance did you separate the two parts. Is there a measurement to saw by, or in your case snip by. I have been looking through builds and posts but have found nothing Regards Ted ______________________________________________________
