Hi Alan Thanks for looking in and your comments the Dark hardwoods are as you say top quality but I would just say to double check the lime wood strips as some look great but split easily when used. Hi All This post will conclude this months build, the hull has now had the fillets attached to the front and rear so awaiting more planks here. The lower deck has had the ladder column's and handrail fitted with cannon balls on each corner , also the cannon ball rack has been added around the grating on the same deck. Finally the cross beams have been added in this area. The forward railing base has been added as have two of the mast supports , bow and mainmast. Hi All Slowly getting the secondary planking done and taking my time as I want it looking as good as possible. One thing I will mention is some of the planks have a natural curve along there length, these can be saved and used at the bow and stern to aid in curvature of the hull . You may have noticed I am deliberately planking into the false keel areas at the bow and stern, this will be trimmed back in these area's to accommodate the keel when it gets fitted. Hi Steve I have to say that when planking goes right its a very rewarding experience [ some people may think Im mad I know  ] you will get to the planking before you know it, Spare planks from your Vic build may come in useful here as I think there the same size .
