Hi Adrie, Don`t know about the Uber class,  just do the best I can. Having taken a step back and looked at the build, I realized that the seat fitted very nicely into the air-frame as shown in the pic below. So, let`s see where we go from here. Issue 11 coming up. Hi Derek Hope all is well with you. Your build looks like a crackin good kit such a shame it's not been released in the UK as a part work. Top marks to you as you getting some top joints on the parts with no signs of excess glue - a really good bit of modelling. Is the brass etch your working with coated in any way? Only ask as the sort of thing I am used to using such as Eduard really does not like the oils etc from your hands and marks so easily.it also has a tendency to whiten when using superglue but yours is pristine. This would look so brilliant if left in natural metal although I guess historically inaccurate if the real plane was made of different metals. Following as and when I can with great interest. Time and family illness again against me at the moment so not dropping in as often as I would like. Kind regards Tony Happy Modelling

Tony Hi Tony, You have raised several very interesting points and I will try and deal with them all. First off, I wish you and your family well and hope things get better for you all. Now as for the build: No excess glue !! I have been purchasing "Loctite super glue power flex gel" with push buttons on the sides to push the glue out. These applicators have very fine nozzles, but I`ve taken an extra step and put the tiniest spots on the end of a cocktail stick, this allows for precision application of the adhesive. Oils from the hands, well all I`ve done there is to reduce handling to an absolute minimum and have applied small parts with the use of tweezers. Now, white residue,  , yep had some of that, but as soon as I`ts been spotted I`ve removed it with the point of the sharpest of knife blades or a filed flat cocktail stick. Natural colour, I don`t think that can be considered. My reason for saying that is that copper will tarnish and not prepared to keep getting out the "Brasso" .It is possible that varnish may do the job,but I decided to go with the original German colours as in "very dark grey". Vallejo acrylic RAL7021. Now I`ve left this bit till last. I`m led to believe, that this kit was not made available due to it thought not to be PC to sell it here, as this plane bombed our country. Other kits have been sold here, so I`m not totally sure about that one. My personal thoughts are that it shouldn`t make any difference, but the decision was not mine. Many thanks for taking the time to look in under your present circumstances and I sincerely hope things get better in the very near future. Hi All, First off, TONY you are welcome, always happy to assist where I can. Now this is just a preview of issue 11. It supplies a brass fret of the pilot`s harness straps, in addition you now bring into play most of the remaining parts of issue 9, these parts are the buckles and adjusters for the harness. All of these parts are painted whilst in the fret. I have used the recommended Humbrol paints: 56 - Aliminium 121 - Pale stone(matt) 159 - Khaki drab (matt) One thing that did come to light was, that the paints 121 and 159 do not come in acrylic, but, the enamel has done an excellent job albeit that it took a bit longer to dry. When assembled I may try a bit of dark wash to tone down the harness straps. Have already had some success with the pilots head rest with that, but more on that later. The parts you are about to see have to be fed through each other, bent then stuck in the right place at the back, confused, I am. This section is going to need some serious translation, as the drawings and pics are not as self explanatory as other issues have been. So I`ll leave you with a couple of pics below of the painted parts still in their frets. I`ll leave those parts up to your imagination, while I translate the instructions. Hi Derek Some nice but fiddly looking etch there, taking your time is the secret here. Also if you need to put a dome in any of the parts provided then a bag of assorted size marble's will be needed, placing the part to be domed on a soft surface and rolling the marble in a circular motion over it will bring in the results. Hi Adrie, In my defense, the parts did start out bigger and since then as you say have got smaller to say the least, but this is such a brilliant kit I`m having to ease the brakes on, as it`s tending to drag me along. The sign of a good kit I think, but not to be rushed. As far as the enamels go, there is an equivalent Tamiya acrylic XF51, for the drab Khaki, but I can`t find one for the pale stone. That aside the nearest shop I can find with the acrylics is 10 miles away. So rather than wait for some to be posted, I have almost dry brushed the webbing strap parts with the enamel and managed to keep the detail of the stitching. Larger parts appear in issue 13, but they come with the mandatory tiny bits as well. Thanks for looking in and the very welcome advise. Have reached a part now, where the instructions will need full translation, whereas before only small parts were needed because of repetition and me remembering certain words, so a slight delay, but google translate is doing a fine job so far. Regards Andy Hi Andy, Your very right, this is a definite slow down point. First off, translation required as previously mentioned. Then the straps will have some serious bends put in them, so that the ends when passed through the buckles can be stuck to the reverse side. These "U" bends will have to be spot on, or the strap ends will not lay directly on top of the reverse side. So, I`ve now found a use for some of the scrap brass, PRACTICE. As mentioned before though, you would have had to import this kit or get somebody in the release countries to send it to you, as it has never been released in this country.
