Hi All, Many Thanks to Spencer,Alan,Steve,Adrie and Andy for the kind comments.  This kit is a dream to build, just glad I`ve got fairly long thin fingers and not pork sausage fingers as you have to feed some parts in through the air-frame. It is still some way off before this build goes outside of the cockpit area, as there is still a shed load of stuff to build and fit. Hi All, Here comes the construction of issue 15. This issue,concentrates on the enhanced detail of the forward section of the cockpit. The first part adds rivet detail to the top of the forward bulkhead. This part has to be slightly curved to fit tight to the bulkhead. Pic 1 This is where the skinny fingers come in handy. Using superglue, parts like this have to hit the right spot first time. Not had a problem so far,(thank goodness). Part in place. Pic 2 This part is only 4mm wide and fits in a gap a couple of hairs width wider. So when in place, I pad the part down into it`s final position using cotton buds. I took a breather at this point, as the next part to be fitted is a single line of rivets. (only 1mm wide) Made several (non glued) attempts at getting this one in place, before the final fit. The part. Pic 3 and in place. Pic 4 The next two parts, have to be fitted to there relative side of the fuselage, as they are shaped to fit the bulkhead and allow the fitting of other parts afterwards. This pic shows one part and the next pic shows the larger part fitted.Pic 5 That was the smaller of the two parts, here the larger part is fitted as per the instructions,both parts have small cut-out sections to make sure you fit them in the correct place. Pic 6 The next two parts, have their relative side of the fuselage to fit to, as other parts will be fitted to them at a later stage in the build. The parts. Pic 7 The 1mm wide legs at the bottom of these two parts, have to be pre-formed to fit to the upper edges of the bulkhead plates. The top edge of these parts fit directly under the upper rail at the top of the fuselage To simplify the fitting of these parts, I curved the legs up in a tighter curve than required. Pic 8 Then, fitted the top part of the plate and with glue on a cocktail stick and a cotton bud to bring the thin legs down onto the bulkhead achieved this result. Pic 9-10 So, just two more detail parts to add for this section. Pic 11 These two parts MUST be fitted with regard to the fixing slots that are close to their fitting position, or future parts will not fit.Pics 12-13 Now, all that is left to do for this issue, is to fit two stringers to the air-frame. One each side and a few fixing points for pins may need to be cleaned out. This is because, where you have fitted detail plates on the inside of the air-frame, you may have filled the pin locating holes with adhesive. Very difficult to show these parts fitted but will do my best. Pic 14 Having fitted both of these stringers, issue 15 is completed. At this point, here`s some stats: Build weight:132gms Scrap brass weight:192gms Issue 16 to be available very soon. Hi All, Here`s the preview of issue 16. This issue, builds the housing for the hydraulic drive for flight control. The parts shown below. When these parts are assembled, the completed section fits against the bulkhead between the pilot and rear gunner, on the rear gunner`s side. Dinner beckons, so update later. Hi All, Here`s issue 16, construction of the hydraulic drive housing. The basic construction is four interlocking plates, to which the detailing parts are added. The first part: (red arrows indicate pre-scored bend points)Pic 1 These pre-scored parts can easily be bent by hand and quite successfully, but I still use my hold and fold to make sure everything is spot on. When folded this part makes the main frame of the box. Pic 2 Three additional parts are now added to the folded frame. These fit together by pre-cut slots, obvious which way these fit together, so will show only a pic of them together.Pic 3 You will notice if you take a close look, that the centre piece (between the two arrows) is very slightly curved. More on that in a bit. The next part is the front plate of the box. Two pics here: First, shows the visible side of of the front face plate.Pic 4 Second, shows thin channels on the reverse side. These channels are are for the location of the parts all ready assembled. NOTE: The frame MUST fit into the channels of the front panel, or the locating lugs on the bottom of this construction will not fit into the locating holes in the floor plate of the cockpit.Pic 5 The next pic shows the front panel fitted and the decorative side of the top panel.Pic 6 The reverse side (or inside) of the top panel shows two fold points and one central locating channel.Pic 7 Now back to the point I made earlier. The top,centre plate of the frame is slightly curved. So the centre section of the top plate (between the fold points), has to be slightly curved to take the undue pressure off the joint. I done the curving of the centre section before making the two bends, this aids the bending process which can then be done in gradual stages until a perfect fit is achieved. The Result. Pic 8 Before fitting the top panel, a word of "warning". The top panel can be fitted the wrong way round and if it is, you get a very small gap between the top and front panels where they butt together. Pic 9 That`s the main construction completed, now comes the addition of some detailing parts. First, two rivet strips. One straight the second very slightly curved. The straight one fits on the top panel and the curved one fits too the front panel. The parts.Pic 10 and fitted. Pic 11 The front face has four locating holes drilled in it and a doc-u-ment holder (I think) is fitted here. ( Can`t as yet find a description in the translation,will edit this post if info comes up) The part needs to be folded along three edges and the fold points are very close to the sides of the part itself, so out comes the hold and fold. (A great investment). I gently folded the sides up in stages until the locating pins fit into the relevant holes with ease. The folded part. Pic 12 and fitted. Pic 13 A final part is fitted. This is a thin brass strip, bent in two places and located to the front of the housing. Pic 14 That`s the hydraulic housing completed. It`s now fitted into the gunners section of the cockpit. Pics 15-16 Well that`s it for issue 16. Issue 17 provides six stringers to add to the air-frame. Update to follow. Hmmm, the correct translation of the German Box to English, would be .... wait for it .... box. Could also have been a loudspeaker but I don't think that fits in this case. Shape-wise I would have gone for a map-holder myself. The instructions didn't smell of schnapps, did they?   Adrie. 'Where to glue or where not to glue, that is the question'

Hi Adrie, No unfortunately  The naughty word checker on the forum won`t allow doc-u-ment without the dashes, so map holder will do. Have to hold em in with a peg though, as would fall out if the plane went upside down. Bit difficult flying a plane with a map wrapped round your face. Thanks again. Hi All, Issue 17 update. There are six stringers to add to the upper section of the cockpit air-frame.Three each side, which are duplicated, so I`ll show just one side. The upper one of the three needs some careful bending. Although pre-scored the upper stringer has two bends that are within a few mm of each other and the brass is very thin at the bend points, also there is a bend at the very end of the stringer. A pic of the stringers in the fret. Pic 1 As can be seen from the above pic, the parts are very close together and they are also easily damaged. So great care is needed when removing them from the fret. I`ll now show the bends required in the upper stringers while they are still out of the main frame, as it`s difficult to see when installed. Pics 2-3 After several dry fits to make sure of a perfect fit, glue applied and part installed. The double bend section also has a locating slot between the two bends, so is a little difficult to install, hence the several dry fits. Pic 4 I only applied glue to the lower section of this stringer and the vertical section between the double bend. Reason for this, is to make installation easier, as the upper half can have adhesive applied and then then be moved into position with the use of the upper bend of the centre section. When installed the end with the bend in it is glued to the stringer below. Pic 5 The above process is now repeated on the other side. Two more stringers are now applied to either side, no bending required and a minimal amount of adhesive to be applied to the location slots in the fuselage formers, prior to fitting. Then a close-up of where they fit. Pic 6 All part numbers and fitting positions are clearly shown in the instructions, so I`ll just add a pic showing them fixed in place. Pic 7 ] That`s it for issue 17 Issue 18 returns to the cockpit instrument panel. First, I will complete the section from issue 1 and then follow on to issue 18. The detail in this part of the build, in my opinion can only be described as superb. Only issue with that is, that there are some micro small parts to deal with. Have some painting to do before construction continues, so will update asap.
