Hi All, I have spent the last 5 months reading as much as i can on here (Hats off to the Official diary & Steve-o's ship!) and decided to take the plunge and attempt Victory - originally with my nephew but not sure an 8yo would really stick with it! Would like to take the opportunity to say a big thank you to Simon Watson, who, after i had significant problems with the customer service dept, helped out immensely and ensured that everything was sorted out quickly. This is what happens when you move into a new place with your girlfriend and she says "no darling its fine you can have the walk in wardrobe....!" William's Build attached the following image(s):

A big welcome to Modelspace William good to have another Victory builder on here and really looking forward to seeing your progress. There is plenty of help at hand here as I'm sure you are well aware of by now. Good luck with your build Steve

Any critical feedback most welcome! I used to build models when i was a child but on a much simpler scale and have had a good 10 year break from doing anything like this. Pictures seem to have resized badly, anything I'm doing wrong? I used an online batch site and set it to 600 x 450?

Quick question before i start painting things - I've bought an airbrush and compressor kit (mainly for getting rid of sawdust and was wondering what the best option is for using it paint wise. I have the Victory paint set but should i thin the colours in that or buy specific air brush paint?

Hi William, the admiralty paint will thin down to spray, I use water to thin mine, not used them all but have sprayed the black metal no problem. Steve

Planking rows 8 & 9. Planks are taking longer to shape and bend now. 1st row of gun ports gun cut (with no cut fingers so far!) need to finalise the sanding and line them of course but I think that comes later. This project is BRILLIANT! Very happy so far, I just hope that it turns out half as good as some of the other build diaries! William's Build attached the following image(s):

Thanks for the positive feedback all, feel free to criticise. I have done overlapping planks that don't quite marry up along the front where it starts to bend round, is that normal and will it smooth out when it comes to sanding? I'm obviously taking as much care as possible when it comes to shaping and fitting them but I can't seem to help it.
