Its a full day defiantly. and you get a harbour cruse in the full ticket price. not cheap though £74 for 4 of us with my youngest going free, but i don't mind the money goes into preserving the ships.

I will be there on the 28 and then in Swindon 29th, well Aldbourn actually but its right next door. so will let you know what the Mary Rose museum is like when i get back

The Mary Rose museum is fantastic. It will take you a full day to do every thing. this is my recommend itinerary.

1. Order your ticket on line in advance its slightly cheaper and quicker for the till.

2. Get to historic docs gate at 8:45. Have full english breakfast at the coffee shop next to the Ship Anson Pub, it don't look much but the food was home cooked and really good.

3. Get to gate for 9:30. website tells you gates open at 10 but they open for ticket sales at 9:45 and queue forms from 9:30

4. Do Mary Rose museum first it is the furthest away and gets very busy by 11:30

5. Do Victory next its closest to Mary Rose Museum and is the next busiest attraction.

6. Trafalga museum next ( quick stop at the RC model ship club stand in passing)

7. Lunch in boat hose number seven ( can recommend the fish and chips )

8. Harbour cruse (every 30 mins)

9 HMS Warrior (largest attraction so even when busy docent feel it), don't foget to have a good gander at the HMS Warrior model in the visitors centre on way in built by a vicar who also wrote the book 'how to build a working model ship"

10 giftshop

try and get that all done in 8 hours difficult I can assure you

yes Lusty was taking on previsions, got a realy good view as the harbour tour went right paster her down the full length as well as two frigates and two of the new D class destroyers couple of new frigates for Saudi and the US Navy was in port too

Really appreciate you taking the time to answer some of the earlier questions I asked.

Looks like you had a really good day out and I will take all of your advice inboard (no pun intended) to get the best out of my day.

With work commitments and most of the summer leave booked by others I have my leave scheduled around the August bank holiday. Seems a way off but will come around quickly.

Looking forward to seeing more of your pictures which by the way are very clear - you must have a good camera.

Victory is looking better than when i saw her last back in 2010. she has been gives a full re paint and looks all the better for it. Your quite right all the top masts are removed, I understand that from the first spotting top up on the main mast there is over 22 tons in weight. the bottom mast sections have not been moved in the 120 years since they were installed so they are assessing what needs to be done to ensure they are in good order.

While I was there they were caulking some of the for deck which was interesting to watch. just next to victory was a pile of spars and a stack of spotting tops and they all looked pretty rotten. some of the internal frame is exposed also near the port bow. also some of the ships areas are closed to the public at the moment such as the captains cabin that could be accessed before.

Hi Jase, great pictures of Warrior, we visited last year and I agree it is a very full day, wish we`d had your suggested itinerary, it would have saved us some time on our visit, as you say getting everything in is difficult, but well worth it,
