I'm just wondering what double sided adhesive tape to use for fitting the skin panels. I've tried a couple of different ones,and even though I've roughed up the surfaces,flattened the panels before fitting,and warmed up the adhesive tape before fitting,they still keep lifting up. So I was wondering for those who are skinning their Zero's,which double sided tape have you found to actually stick them down? Jon

 Hi Spikee Double sided tape is only going to be a half way house im afraid as it will always eventually lift and thus need replacing. It also depends what way you decide to display the Zero too and what your chosen look will be full skin , half/half ect. My personal preferance will be to go half and half with the Skinning and use super glue gel as the fixative . I also have some other idea's on how to prevent dust entering the open area's but more from that in my build diary soon. Hope this helps Regards Andy Hi Andy Thanks for the tips.I'm planning on a fully skinned model with a few panels 'removable',probably involving some kind of tiny magnets...but thats for much later. For now,I will try the tape and superglue gel on a 'test' panel as you suggest and see how that goes. Thanks again Regards Jon Jon

Hi Spikee I think you missunderstood my reply or maybe I didnt explain what I meant well enough , using super glue to stick the tape down may not be such a good idea as at some time the tape will need replacing and damage will occur to the thin skins as you replace the tape [ the skins are not much thicker than cooking foil]. So I would permamently fix the panels you dont want to remove with Super Glue Gel, as for your removable panels you could try using small pins affixed to the underside then slot into drilled holes in the airframe to hold them in place or as you suggested magnets. Thank you Andy,yes it doesn't take much to confuse me  I will try superglueing a test panel on and see how that goes,fingers crossed. I do like the idea of using pins to locate the removable panels.Excellent idea,will have to give that a go,as it will only be the upper wing surfaces and upper rear fuselage,both of which would lend themselves well to the pin method.
