Issue 91 now complete.... not very much this week, just the adding of 5 pieces of bling on the transom.. This just about finishes the transom decoration... .. Then there was the addition of 5 pieces of bling on the lower starboard gallery.... .. Looks like next issue is the addition of even more bling so see you when that's done..... I'm still slowly plowing my way through Sephton's book. He certainly knew what he was talking about and the descriptions are superb... I still can't help thinking it was such a waste of money to build such a war machine with such lavish decoration only to end up possibly at the bottom of the sea... Still, in those days it was about advertising a country's wealth and power and this build would certainly do the trick..... Thanks again.. Regards Alan

All this bling makes the build very reward way before you get to the rigging. Looking fab Alan J “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

Today I managed to finish the work described in issue 92, the adding of yet more bling. The painting and adding of sea horses and dolphins down the port side, each piece being primed, painted with 2 coats of metallic gold paint followed by a coat of klear coate gloss.... These pieces were quite a tight fit so would advise you check measurements carefully when you get to this part of the build to ensure the area's for these fittings are the correct size... Two pieces of mine at the bow end had to be filed back very slightly top and bottom in order to get them to sit correctly... .. Looks like the next issue is the adding of yet more bling so will update when that is completed..... .. Happy building all.... Regards Alan Gandale attached the following image(s):
