I received Issues 12-15 the other day. I also received the binder with it. I'm not too sure about the binder. I might go a Ring Binder with pocket sleeves instead. With the Launch, I fitted the keel before I cut the Launch off the jig frame. It is quite delicate. I think I will go ahead now and stain the hull. I'm still not sure what stain I should use, however I have tried Mahogany and Dark Oak. It is a very nice combination. I'm going to look at Teak as well.   Regards, Michael

Hi all, It has been interesting the last few days trying to work out which stain to use on the Launch. The first layer did not take well to that wood. It had no character and looked "sloppy". So I actually painted a thin layer of Walnut colour and then that provided a very nice base to stain with 3 layers of Dark Oak. I'm going to now apply 3 layers of Mahogany as per the build, to give that two toned contrast. I feel that it is turning out quite well. The inside of the launch so far has two coats of burgundy/maroon colour. For the flooring, I looked at the methods and all were very nice. I tweaked it a little. I got tracing paper, and "moulded" it to the edges of the inside of the launch, which when doing so, I used a sharp pencil to mark each edge of the rib. I traced this onto the planks that I had pre-glued together with ribs that strengthened it and then slowly scalpeled it out to shape nicely for the launch. I think I'll do the same flooring with staining it.   Regards, Michael

I've progressed to placing dowel supports for the next deck. I luckily found thick bamboo chopsticks in the local supermarket and used them. Just in case you may think the deck is not level. It is just the optical "illusion" of the photo that makes it look not level.  Regards, Michael

Hi Michael. All looking good. The supports will definitely help support 2nd deck. It tends to be flimsy without them so some who didn't use have now said. Yes photos do tend to make things look out of line sometimes. If it is level (Or rather in the slight curve up both ends) to your satisfaction then no problem. Keep up the good work. It has been a while since I've been on here. I have not progressed from where I was, so I'm behind in the build process. It's been a busy part of the year and hence the silence on the build. Hopefully, I'll be back on deck and progressing with the build.
It's great to see some more people posting their build.

There is some awesome builds going on here. So, well done to everyone and I just love looking at everyone's progress.
We're in the middle of a big move, so again, hence, there has been no progress update.
I can safely say, that everything is ok and safe without any damage, which is a huge relief for sure.
Once the move is done, I will be setting up the office to continue the build which will be the foray into planking (OMG!).
