Hi Kym.BigGrin

Thanks for your comments. Cool Cool

Yes the infills are good regarding later planking. Quite a lot of work to do on hull regarding gluing and later sanding of the balsa, but I'd say is worth it. You can also see the planking profile a lot easier too when done BigGrin

Lovely work on the infills George, you can now see clearly the shape the old girl will have and think you will agree the hull is now very sturdy... Cool Cool .. Very well done...

Hi Alan. BigGrin

Thanks for the kind comments they are as always greatly appreciated. Cool Cool

Yes, as you told me earlier in the piece the hull with full infill certainly gives the hull strength and sturdiness. I thank you for giving me the enthusiasm in your earlier posts to do it. Cool Cool

A really big benefit also is there can be no warping or twisting with the keel while waiting on planking or while planking. BigGrin

George

Hi George

I've just been looking at your infill work and you've done a great job thereCool
I am currently doing infill work and it's all done except the bit right at the stern. I found things a bit awkward between frames 21 and 22 with the transition from convex to concave form.

I like the idea of the balsa supports under alternate deck beams, I will copy that!BigGrin

Hi John BigGrin

Thanks for looking in and your kind comments. Cool Cool

Yes the infills are a little tricky right at the stern with the change in shape of curvature. We still have another high rib frame to come yet so you might find you'll need even more sanding at the stern once the angle past it can be followed.BigGrin

The deck beams looked pretty flimsy to me just attached by a couple of mm on the ends for a start. That's why the balsa supports every second beam. I might add an odd extra support if I find the joins go to a beam without a support, but won't know till that 2nd decking comes in another two kit's time, I think? BigGrin

George

So hard to not start my own one, only I want to finish a few of my other ships, before I start on her.

I am also doing HMB Endeavour, HMS Victory & HMS Hood as well.

Hi Skyfire .BigGrin

Thanks for looking in.Cool

One good thing about not starting yet on the SOTS is you'll pick up heaps of tips and find out any problems we run into as queries on the forum. It will help to make your build when you do start a little less confusing here and there.BigGrin

Hi Mathew.BigGrin

Welcome to the forum. I haven't seen your name before so I'm taking it you're a Newbie like me, in particular regards SOTS. BigGrin

Planking still a little way off yet. Next issue is (14) and 2nd deck so I'm looking forward to that. BigGrin

Also Looking forward to seeing your build when you start on it and as it progresses. Cool Cool

Hi Brex. BigGrin

If you look in Friday morning to see how I went on issue 13, I'm sorry there's nothing to show as I have already done what the issue instructs some time back re the launch.BigGrin

Only new items are; I've metal primed the oars, anchor and bucket that came in issue 13, but no other instructions other than only to put away till another time.( I couldn't fully paint anyway as colours are some of the four that's yet to arrive).BigGrin

At least the 2nd deck comes with issue 14 so as you can imagine I'm looking forwards to that at least. BigGrin
