Hi Spencer, I don't have any of the kits but I am a fan of the Star Wars movies... I would be sorely tempted to subscribe to the DeAg Falcon if it does take off her.... am watching to see how this develops.... Regards Alan

This is a great thread and some lovely links I hope they continue the Falcon part work so I can use the info and tips shown here to add xtra detail to mine. I have the AMT kit that i'm modifying to give it thinner walls to make it more accurate and hope to post some pictures up of my progress.. has anyone got any ideas on what is the best way to light it and what is the best LED's to use? Many Thanks Daniel

A few corrections to the above...
The MPC/AMT/Ertl Falcon scale is a bit larger then the Fine Molds Falcon at about 1:70 scale, not 1:76.
There's a bunch of things I'm probably gonna end up getting for mine when it finally starts arriving. Namely the cockpit areas (seats, consoles, cone and back walls) and of course the interior stuff as well. I am so stoked about getting this. I missed out on a lot of other Falcon's but this one I had to jump on! Been telling everyone I can about it... even straightened out a bunch of folks in an unrelated forum about the value this baby truly is. They were dissing it and saying what a waste it was... I set them straight on why it was so talked about and why so many people are excited about it. They all changed their tunes and I may have actually drove a few buyers this way! :)
In any event I can't wait to get this and start seeing my dreams come to life. Truly gonna be epic and I can't stand waiting! It's driving me nuts... but I know that when it's done this is gonna end up being LEGEN... wait for it... DARY!

Hello Everybody, I am new to this forum but not to modelling, in the past I have concentrated more on cars etc but being a Sci-Fi fan thought I move to Sci-fi buildings Below (hopefully) is my Fine Molds 1:72 scale Falcon that I completed last year, For the die hard fans you will notice I strayed from the path a little when it comes to lighting. I used a mixture of Fibre Optic, LED and Electroluminescent sheets as well as a dedicated LED chaser kit to give the external lower hull lighting a spiralling effect. Hope this helps some peeps in any way. Paul File Attachment(s): 1.jpg (272kb) downloaded 12 time(s). png77 attached the following image(s):

Hey Paul... great job on your FM Falcon... only one problem that I see and forgive me if my OCD kicks in, but your engine vents are sideways. The major vent lines should be angled with the curve of the hull straight up and down. Like this:

The Fine Molds 1/72 is no longer in production as they lost the license to bandia, but no fear, Revell have introduced it using the same mold so basically its the same kit in a different box Link here At $299 might be a bargain if you watch the exchange rates! and they ship worldwide. Hey Warthog... here's a much better reference for Star Wars Falcon blueprints albeit a bit more pricey, but well worth it for the interior blueprint references: http://www.amazon.com/St...ds=star+wars+blueprints
I would also suggest changing your Shapeways search link above to search for "DEAGOSTINI" or "DEAGO" for a much better search of parts for the Falcon... the search you included comes up with all kinds of crazy finds (like Falcon rings and bottle openers).
