Hello Everyone First of all I would like to thank everyone that has contributed to the forum. I have enjoyed all the posts and have learned a lot. Unfortunately I have encountered a problem. I have test fit the quarterdeck and there seems to be a problem with the fit. When the deck is aligned and flush to rib number 22 there is a gap of about 2mm from the step in the hull. I have attached a few photos demonstrating it. Has anyone had the same problem or has an idea what I did wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards Hendrik

hi hendrik, not a real problem,it looks like the dimensions used to the q.deck bulwarks(wall) was a little short. you can do two different fixes 1.fill the gap with scrap,or add a post to the bulwark,the other option which means stripping back the bulwark and making it longer. hope it helps,looking good,well done. Thanks a lot for the reply. Your advise is very helpful in deed.
It just bugs me where the problem originated. I have checked and checked again and all the measurements are exactly as they should be. I am starting to think that rib 22 was not entirely straight.
However, will start with the fix later this week.

hi hendrik,I hadn't considered that the rib may be at fault,it might be a good idea to move the former to the desired place,and all would fit.if you are sure of your measurements,don't forget the forward edge has to be in the right place,if it is short, you may have to move that former as well. if you used pva or aliphatic glue, you can soften it up with warm water and a paintbrush. your choice,good luck. easy peasy really. I measured the rib now with the lower deck and that fits fine. It all lines up rather easily and the mizzen mast holes are over each other. So I guess it is just the edge that has to be extended.
If I do that, will the decoration still fit though?

yep it all comes together quite nicely.
