This is my first time I have posted a topic and my first build at this scale and I want to get it right. I am currently building the launch and am about to file out the oar positions. Can anyone tell me how wide and deep these are to be filed

Welcome to the forum.
If you look in the Victory Build Discussions there are a number of threads that deal with the launch. You can also use the search feature on the forum to get specific information.
The depth of the oar slots seems to vary from one modeller to another. I chose about 2 mm for the depth and marked that off with masking tape as suggested. The width of my slots was just the thickness of my needle file and measure about 1 mm.
Having seen some of the others I might have widened them a bit. The oars fit in the slots though.
