Hi Trev,

I just thought I would add a post to say how much I am enjoying following and digesting your build diary. First class workmanship and excellent presentation and I await your posts with the same eagerness as Mr T's official build diary.

Keep it up and thank you for taking the time and effort to keep things up to date.

Hi,
UPDATE.
Pack 11 Contains the Spitfire seat now I'm not to sure about the size of the seat regarding the back rest it look's a tad short but I may be incorrect, so I decided to fit it and see what it looks like when I receive the floor I can try it to the build. I found it very interesting to put together the only problem was I had a small gap were the base of the seat fits to the side which I had to fill, at present I have stopped at the primer stage but will investigate more, also I am not to happy with the seat straps I think I can improve I have a few ideas.

More to follow.
Regards
Trev.

Hi Trev, BigGrin

Nice work as always.Cool

I think the seat back looks short, because, the seat should be recessed to accommodate the pilots parachute.

Hope you don`t mind but I`ve attached a couple of pics taken at Duxford, when two guys from the "Flying Legends" gave me behind the scenes access to get some close-up shots.

Keep up the good work

Alan,
Well I was not to pleased with the way the seat went together, all though
it did turn out sort of ok! I think I will rebuild from scratch and see what happens and how it looks.

All the best

Derek,
Thanks for looking and for your help with the photo's, I will be re-building the seat I need to check out the CD first as I'm not to sure of the total height of the seat back or where the floor will be fitted, looking at your pictures (thank you) it has given me something to go by and think about, I will post as soon as I have something to show.

Best

Hi Trev,BigGrin

Glad to have been of some assistance.

When you work out some figures for appropriate sizes, give me a buzz.

I`ve made a quick scratch build in balsa and would like to compare the stats to see if we are on the same hymn sheet, so to speak.

This was about an hours work. (Including sizing)
