Hi all, I'm currently working on the victory model and wanted to ask about deadeyes. On any sail ship there are obviously loads and I was wondering if I should paint them (either with paint or something like Danish oil) or leave them bare. I know that this is entirely subjective but what are people's thoughts on the subject?

Hi william
Mostly they are left as they are, they dont seem to take stain that well but can be painted or sprayed.
The Victory at Portsmouth now has the deadeyes in black and this is what I did on my buildBigGrin

Thanks Steve. It's been so long since I've actually gone down there and had a look at her, planned trip imminent.....

I think I'll follow suit to be honest.

William.
