sharkie, where in Milnerton is the track? I remember a track just outside Bothasig on the Bosmandam road but I think that was for off-road. Enjoy your stay in the US and make us all jealous when you earn dollars The Wendy house is too cold to work in at the moment, so the hydroplane is at a stand still at the moment and the RB7. When the hydroplane is finished I might come down and race it on the lagoon but there is a dam in Durbanville. I have plenty of lights and power plugs in the Wendy because that is where I do all my modelling. Maybe if I go on my knees my wife will allow me to build the car in the house. It's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop

I envy your private model space to build your models. I use my room and the fumes from glue, paint and thinners is not pleasant. But with walls full of models i cant really complain=) i also spent the last 2 days with my friends at a speciality rc car store today. The technicians are impressed with the new rb7 but warned me that aftermarket parts are tough to come by so doubling up on suspension, wings and engine parts will be to your favour! My investigations also lead to finding out that nitro cars can only really be operated safely at tracks, which are scarce. So i will probably also invest in a 1:10 scale electric DTM as well as F1 car=) cant wait to show these off on the forum!

I went on my knees and promised my wife all sorts of things if she would allow me to build the RB7 inside the house while we have this cold weather. Being a 'gentleman', I will not say what I promised my wife Want to finish the front wing and do all the stickers and then it is just a wait for parts of the suspension etc. Those small wing fins seem to be tricky because of their size but it will get done. Somehow I am going to have to learn how to use a controler with a wheel With my planes and boats I use sticks. I have never driven a car but I do have a tank that I mess around with every now and then when I chase our cats and dogs. The one cat gets a rather evil glint in his eye and I think that one of these days the tank is going to have to retreat. It's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop

Just purchased a spare issue 8 from the newsagent. This is for the control arms/wishbones that might be damaged in a front end prang. I think that this is where most of the damage will be if we go off the track. It's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop

Hi Brett, welcome to the forum. I am up to issue 6 and waiting for 7-10 which should be arriving this week. I do not know when they are dispatched but when I get this lot I will know the time frame between postings. I think we all know about the withdrawal symptoms It's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop

Mmmm, Friday afternoon and still nothing in my post box so I suppose I will have to wait until next week. I see that they have debited my account today for issues 3-6. A weekend of going cold turkey At least I can carry on with the hydroplane There is quite a bit of work lying ahead of me It's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop

I noticed that issue 10 is already out at C&A,
so cant wait anymore, we should all be on the same issue so that we can all build together.
hope to get my issues next week

Hi Brett, I wonder why you have up to issue 5? My first posting was 1&2 and the 2nd posting was 3,4,5&6 and I got my storage box with that. I hope that my next posting comes this week. I was expecting it last week but it seems that it will take about a month between postings It's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop

Hi Andre
I got my first 3 issues from C & A, so my first delivery was issue 4 and 5.
this shipment should be a nice one, as I haven't received any free gifts as yet.
I have been looking at what other models I could build to pass the time, that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
hope it doesn't take too long to receive issues.

I contacted customer services this afternoon to enquire about posting #3, issues 7,8,9&10, and was told it will only come later in the month What a bummer as I was really looking forward to do some building this weekend. I will keep you all up to date on this It's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop

Hi folks, a slow day in the workshop and all my paper work is up to date so I have time on my hands. Brett, they did not really give a reason except to say that posting 2 was early. my 1st lot was received on 12 June, the 2nd on 7 July and now been waiting a month for the 3rd batch. I think that when we are further into the build the issues will be more regular. That is what happened with the Bismarck. Even if I do get parts next week, I will not be building because I am getting ready for International Lighthouse/Lightship weekend on the 16/17 of this month and I will be down at Cape Infanta.
