It Says:

The four shock absorbers need to be filled with the shock oil provided in Stage 9 and sealed before being mounted. During this process, it is important that no air bubbles are trapped inside the chamber of the absorbers.
Carefully follow the filling instructions, then assemble the springs onto the shocks as shown. Note that the front and rear springs differ in coil number.

where do I find the filling instructions?

At the very top of page 238, you should have "Preparing the shock absorbers: filling the shock oil" followed by the instructions and four step photos showing how to fill them, which then leads on to "Mounting the shock absorbers".

Is "Preparing the shock absorbers: filling the shock oil" not at the top of your download of page 238?

Hi,

On the top of page 238 is a photo of the 4 Shocks assembled, then the description shows how to attach the spacers, springs and the spring retainers, it then goes on to show how the assembled suspension units are fitted to the chassis, theres no indication of how you fill the shocks.

In that case it would appear that the oil filling info has been missed from the download PDF.

I will speak with editorial to update the download asap.

If it is just the filling part that is missing and you have made the shocks then its just the case of doing the following.

fill the oil to near the top.

Move the shaft up and down then let until it stops creating bubbles.

Let the bubbles disappear then try moving the shaft again.

Do this until you have no bubbles forming then top up the shock and seal it.

These are pretty standard rules and I have not looked at my hummers shocks yet but they should be pretty standard.

I've got an issue with two of the shocks, one with a front spring and one with a back spring, they will not stay together using only the threads, they pop apart when the springs are installed. Any suggestions?

hi king, are you using the locking cones, you have to compress the springs and the add the locking cone, when the locks are used, you need to turn them so the slot is 90degrees away from the flathead where the ball socket is. that should keep the spring unit solidly locked.hope you understand this explanation. if the threaded cap has been cross threaded you may have to order a new pack.
