I was rudely awoken this morning after working nights by FedE to find that the 1/72 Millennium Falcon by Fine Molds arrived, I wasnt expecting it until tomorrow
I have never attempted anything like a review before but as I was quite excited I decided I would do a small unboxing / Picture review.
For those that are not aware I ordered this kit from Hobby Link Japapn in the evening on of Wednesday 9th July and it arrived today (Monday 13th July), quite impressive service in my opinion. To add to my surprise there was no import tax or duty added that I can see unless this follows later in the post, however in the past I have always had a letter from the courier to say I need to pay X amount before they will deliver. Time will tell
Nothing on the labels or letter in a packet on packing box to suggest import tax or duty due
The first thing that struck me was how big the box was, its HUGH
A sheet of some fantastic high quality photos of the 30" prop model used in The Empire Strikes back & Return of the Jedi
A rather nice large instrtuction sheet for decal placement
Altough the instructions are not in English they are very clear and easy to follow, paint colours have been added in English so shouldnt be any difficulties following them
Now to the Falcon itself, there are another 2 boxes containing varying sprues, 18 in total
, at the bottom of this picture, thought I had taken one showing it all, oops. I was very impressed by the level of detail on the mouldings and could find very little evidence of flash, just the smallest amouth here and there
When you get the upper and lower hull parts snapped together it is quite weighty and feels nice and solid
Decal sheet feels really good quality
Acreations Photo Etch with a nice closeup of the cockpit ready for lighting
Cockpit decals
I do have a few other things on the way for this that are yet to arrive, A 3D printed Quad laser, Clear engine parts and a lighting kit
